As per a recent report from HSBC and Northern Trust, it is projected that 5% to 10% of global assets will undergo tokenization by 2030.
While the report doesn’t provide an exact monetary value, our estimations translate this to approximately $19.5 trillion. This stands in contrast to last year’s prediction of $16 trillion by BCG. BCG’s forecast also foresaw tokenization reaching 10% within the same timeframe.
Based on McKinsey’s data, the total assets under management (AUM) in 2021 were valued at $126 trillion, as opposed to BCG’s estimate of $112 trillion.
Utilizing McKinsey’s figure and applying a compounded growth rate of 5%, the AUM is projected to reach around $195 trillion by 2030, with 5% to 10% of that sum undergoing tokenization.
